“Notes … Copious, F!%king Notes!”
August 24, 2007
Several years back, while in a business meeting my boss at the time (a rather intense man), the tension in the room became quite thick as the boss admonished everyone to, “Stop taking notes, and start paying attention to everything I’m saying” … he further added, “You can’t pay attention and take notes at the same time!”
Not two minutes later, he walked over to where I was sitting and quite sternly explained, “Not you, you’re their manager … you need to be taking notes … copious, f**king notes!!”
To this day I giggle every time I think about that moment, for two reasons: First, because my boss has such strong opinions on the matter. Second, because I’m sure I was witness to the first time in history the word “copious” and the “F” bomb where ever used in the same sentence.

Google Maps: Street View
August 9, 2007
I’m not sure if you’ve checked out Google maps lately, but they’re adding some pretty cool features. The latest is Street View.
What makes this feature so cool? Well, it actually lets you see a 360 degree view by simply placing the “street view” icon guy in the area you want to see.
You can now see a 360 degree street level picture view in select cities using Google Maps (click picture for larger view)

Useful Products: JVC HANC100 Noise Cancelling Headphones
August 6, 2007
(cord retracts into the headset and the headphones fold up)
One of my goals in launching N8tip.com was to highlight products and services that I find useful. In case you’re wondering … no, I’m not on the take for these. Although, if you have a product or service you’d like me to review, send it my way … and go ahead and put me on the take. Just kidding!
I few months ago, I was in the market for a decent set of moderately priced noise canceling headphones. I think headphones are a great investment, especially if you work in busy, noisy places. I work with a ton of folks who work in a cubicle environment … headphones can go a long way in drowning out the noise and distraction.
